About the 3-30-300 Rule
The 3-30-300 rule is an urban forestry guideline proposed by Cecil Konijnendijk to ensure healthy, climate-resilient neighborhoods:
3 – Every citizen should see at least 3 trees from their home. 30 – Every neighborhood should have a 30% tree canopy cover. 300 – Every citizen should live within 300 meters of a public green space/park.
⚠️ Important Map Limitation:
This application analyzes vector points and boundaries. It looks specifically for individual registered trees (within 35m) and designated park shapes. It does not compute continuous raster canopy surface profiles or evaluate actual 30% leaf canopy coverage over building properties.
